Dear Dimensions,
I'm writing in reference to the article
"So, you want to have a baby..." in the
May 1994 issue of Dimensions. I think
any discussion about alternative
fertilization should include the idea of
whether people have a right know their

Camp Sistter Spirit
JACKSON, MISS. - A U.S. House of
Representative subcommittee held an
oversight hearing in Jackson, Missis
sippi on July 6th focusing on the events
surrounding the conflict in Ovett, Mis
Hendry and his group, Mississippi for
Family Values. Hendry has organized
two town meetings and two rallies tar
geting the Hensons and Camp Sister
Spirit,

November 1993,including death threats
by mail and phone,a dead dog hung on
their mailbox, gunshot fire along the
property line, gunshots aimed at a

high speed vehicle chase involving
Brenda Henson and an unknown perpe

I was just fifteen when the now famous
riot at the Stonewall Inn made it to the
pages ofthe New York Times.I read the
story from microfilm at the county
library, constantly vigilant lest a
librarian catch on to my quest for
information.It was arestless time,filled
with civil rights, war, rebellion, and in
my heart I knew that my people, too,
would rise someday.Only first,I had to
find my people. But where?
Try New York on June 26th, 1994 at a
parade that stretched from the United
Nations to Central Park. My people
were there. And so was I. And it was

...organized, festive, fun, peaceful and
... dare I say it... normal. The way I see
it, in the twenty-five years since
Stonewall, the Lesbian & Gay rights
movement has come of age. And so
have I. I celebrated my 40th birthday
during gay pride week. And the events
