McAffrey on Health Reform
In August, State Rep. Al McAffrey made an addition to
his website: The Health Reform Information Center,
which will off the most up-to-date information about
health reform, and provides links to various
organizations that are fighting the myths and misrepresentations about this legislation.
In a recent online newsletter he quotes some shocking
statistics for Oklahoma: In 2006 Oklahoma families
paid an average $10,592 a year in insurance
premiums. Three years later this has risen to $12,239.
By 2019 the cost is projected to be $20,884. The cost
of doing nothing is unacceptable, and Oklahomans
cannot afford to do nothing. McAffrey hopes this
educational opportunity will help to dispel the many
myths about health care reform. Go to
