uring the emergency meeting Of the
TOHR membership on on Tuesday
November 21, 1995, a quorum of
the membership voted to move forward with
negotiations for the Community Center.
A location has been chosen and the committee is working to "get all the ducks in a row"
before completing negotiations with the
owner.
The Community Center will be a special
location where individuals can meet; organizations can work together and share resources; and people can receive the services
they need.
Those members who have been closely
linked with this project are incredibly excited.
The Community Center concept is a chance
to place Tulsa's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and
Transgendered Community on the map.
We encourage you to start thinking of this
Center as THE COMMUNITY CENTER Not
the TOHR Community Center. It will belong to
you and if this dream is to become a reality,
you must get involved. Committees are now
forming in preparation for work on the Center.
If you are interested in participating, please
call the TOHR office at 742-2927 or Debbie at
587-3863.
Current committees include:

Volunteers are still
needed to help answer Tulsa's only
Helpline for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered communities. We also
need a new Helpline
Coordinator for next year. If you feel you can
give a few hours a month to help with this important service, call 743-GA YS and leave a
