TEXAS RIGHTS LOBBY IN TROUBLE
Our Texas LGRL (Lesbian Gay Rights Lobby)is in serious financial trouble, and
without immediate action faces closure in June. There are not enough funds to pay
expenses or our lobbyist, Glen Maxey's, salary.
Now 1 realize everyone wants your money these days. 1 have a desk stacked with
letters from people trying to talk me out of my money, they range from The National
Museum of Women in the Arts to the Cub Scouts.
So why should we make a check out to LGRL,today? Without a paid lobbiest in
Austin, we can march until hell freezes over and it will never change the laws. You
and I, as common everyday citizens who do not live in Austin, Texas[most of us
anyway], have no possible way of keeping up with what laws are up before our
Texas Legislature. That is where Glen Maxey comes into play. He keeps up on con
tinually changing bills that affect each and every one of us. He is our spokesman, but
we cannot expect him to work for free.
The best investment we can make in our future is the action we take today! Write a
check and mail it. 1 don't trust our law makers to look out for our best interest, and
based on their past performance I hope you don't
It seems like there are a lot of people who believe politics has nothing to do with
them. Well maybe not, but lets see. If you are employeed the labor laws affect you, if
you are self-employeed business and labor laws affect you,if you have AIDS there
are a multitude of laws affecting you and hundreds pending before the legislators of
each state and the Federal Government. If you walk down the street and are attacked
for "looking queer", that could fall under hate crimes and hopefully Hampton ain't
your judge, if you sleep with certain people and have certain kinds of sex you are
violating the law. Now if you still think the laws and politics don't affect you, save
your money for a new security system because you're gonna need it.
Make your check payable to;

Answers to your questions about love,
relationships & personal problems
Dear Agnes,
I am very attracted to an entertainer in
a gay bar here in Dallas.
The problem is, how do I get this
woman's attention? She will smile at
me when I am giving her $1 bills, but
she does that with everyone - it's partof
her job.
I've been watching her for a while,and
I have noticed she doesn't socialize
apart from the crowd with a single red
rose or something of that nature.
Remember that underneath the makeup
and glitzy clothes, entertainers are just
like other women. They aren't
goddesses, although a few I've seen
certainly look like goddesses.
Be yourself and ask her out - the worst
that can happen is that she will say no.
At least, then you will have asked and

SEXUAL

What You con Do obout It.

Of the three cases below, pick the the
one (or ones) you think constitutes
sexual harassment.
Case 1: John Freshman presses
against you ever chance he gets; any
excuse will do, asking a question, re

The Attack Of The

A column or two ago you were
introduced to my Significant Other.
You remember — .she's the one who
rearranges the living room furniture
once every 20 years(whether it needs it
or not,)and was quite upset when 1 took
the initiative 19 1/2 year prematurely.
This week she got even. S.O. brought

Probably a soon-to-be very large dog.

S.O. and I had frequently discussed the
possibility of adopting something

one day Fibre, in a survival-of-thefittest feeding frenzy, took a very large

partially due to the fact that

Even the Muppets make me sneeze. As

my previous misconceptions of that

I've learned in just 48 short hours:

they fluently habla baby talk.
