• Gay Black Female : no.69(1998:Jan.)

  The January 1998 issue of Gay Black Female (GBF) magazine highlights various aspects of Black lesbian identity, empowerment, and visibility. Founded in 1990 by Stephanie "Dakara" Wynne, the magazine serves as a platform for creative expression and social advocacy for the Black LGBTQ+ community. • Herland Group Interview

  This group interview features former members of Herland (Peggy Johnson, Margaret Cox, Pat Reaves, Jean Kelsey, and Diane Trout Harwood) reflecting on the experiences with their involvement with Herland, an LGBTQ+ community space, highlighting the challenges and strengths of the collective consensus model used in the organization. Participants discuss the diverse backgrounds of the women involved, particularly in terms of education and class, and how the organization fostered an inclusive environment. They also discuss the AIDS crisis, Pride Parade, and Herland's role in larger LGBTQIA+ movement.

• Herland: Creating a Women's Community

  This documentary created by Herland member Ginger McGovern, UCO Professor of History Dr. Lindsey Churchill, and UCO graduate students Jake Crystal and Mickayla Fisher, explores the creation of the lesbian feminist activist group Herland. It explores the group's connections to the ERA movement, supporting the Fox vs. Fox case, and fighting for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights -- including more creative protests like the Lower Deck Protest, counter protests against Operation Rescue in Wichita. The documentary also discusses the way the community organized and operated including the consensus model, the importance of retreats, and their legacy.

  This issue of HoneyPot, begins with a personal letter on the issue of responsibility and witnessing spousal abuse.   This issue of HoneyPot starts with a financial report of the LRC’s credit union. There is information that gives hypothetical expenses and budgeting strategies. Article on 1970’s and 80’s activism and the Women Movement. Calls for resources and donations. News information on the Texas Triangle, a state gay and lesbian newspaper. Information on Womyn’s 30’s groups. Attention was given for gay games in 1994. Talent show and community calendar events.

  In this issue of HoneyPot, the first article deals with Lesbians and domestic abuse, particularly with local Centers working with local Battered Women’s Centers. Information on various centers and the logistics of building them. News on local events with Center meetings. On one page, there is a letter on how Honey Pot has saved the lives of various women and lesbians in the community. Article on film festival at the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival that hosted Marusia Bociurkiw, a Canadian filmmaker. Informative article on the advent of gay and lesbian dating service which was the idea of Trudi Stinson. This was expedited through Alternative Visions. Article on Dallas police entrapping members of the gay community for public indecency.
