House Parties
A special thank you to Dwight
Kealiher and Mike Tedrick for
hosting the inaugural Pyramid
Project House Party for 2002 .
The party was well attended and
many questions were answered
"The Diary of One Who Vanished"
What can we say about this ground breaking event? We must first thank Carol I. Crawford,
General Director for the Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Opera Marketing and Graphics staff, Tulsa
Opera Artists, Ms. Robin Guarino, Director for "the Diary" and emcee Karen Keith. This
event marked the FIRST EVER direct collaboration between a non-gay opera compony and a
GLBT organization. Read that last sentence again.

After the reception, we made our way into the "Black box" theater for an intense, avant
garde presentation of Czech Leos Janacek's lustful "Diary of One Who Vanished" .
We dosed the evening with a dessert and coffee reception sponsored by none other than
Godiva Chocolatiers as last minute bids were placed. Wonderful, just wonderful! Thank you
one and all for making this such a memorable evening!

"Pride Worldwide ... One voice,

year for Diversity Celebration
2002 . TOHR will once again
This year's Wild Hearts Ball (WHB 11) was held at the beautiful German
American Society building on February 16th. Built in the early 20's, this cut
stone former church was a perfect gothic venue. All lit up in red with the
rainbow flag draped over the outdoor balcony, we were slowing traffic down on
15th Street. Just over $ I0,000 was netted at this year's event.

More than 2 50 were in attendance. The theme "a party of dreams awaits you"
brought out all kinds of "evening" wear. Hmmmm! Stars and moons filled the
dance hall as we moved to the music of DJ Mike Sheldon. Entertainment was
provided by emcee Peaches Lennox, Tabitha Taylor, Anita Richards, Lois, Alan
Davenport, Pat Hobbs, John Orslott, Tom Votaw, John Draper. The food was
absolutely fabulous as always, thanks to: TW's AFAB Catering, Baxter's
Interurban, Reasor's, St. Michael's Alley, The Chalkboard, Wild Fork, Jim's
Coney Island, The White Lion, Bill & Ruth's and Wild Oats. Thank you to Events
Unlimited, Bamboo Lounge and TNT's for in-kind donations.
Smiles abounded as folks got their photos taken by Shelly Ledford in their PJs.
Thank you WHB II attendees and sponsors! We're just a few months away from

Why has TOHR established a TCF Trust? To ensure that the funds donated to the
Pyramid Project Capital Campaign are used solely for the purposes of purchasing,
refurbishing and sustaining a permanent home for the Tulsa Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual and Transgender Community Center.
How are the funds invested? The foundation is a collection of many charitable
funds varying in size from $1000 to multiple millions of dollars. Each fund has
it's own identity and philanthropic purpose and each benefits from being
invested with other funds to create a lasting community resource.
TCFs investment committee meets quarterly to review investment performance
and select investment managers. Trustees appointed by TOHR and the Pyramid
Project Steering Committee may advise TCF of alternate investment allocation
strategies that may seem more prudent for specific needs.
Who are the trustees for TOHR's Pyramid Project capital campaign TCF trust?
The trust document states that there will be three TOHR trustees made up of:
a representative appointed by the Pyramid Project Steering Committee (Mark
Bonney), an appointee from the TOHR membership (Nancy McDonald) and
the TOHR President (Brent Ortolani).
What other charitable organizations hold funds at TCF? All Souls Unitarian
Church, Arts & Humanities Council, Brady Heights Neighborhood Assoc., DVIS,
Magic Empire Girl Scouts, Hospice of Green Country, League of Women Voters,
Planned Parenthood, Special Olympics, Tulsa Opera, Youth Services of Tulsa,
Town and Country School, Tulsa Historical Society and others.
can gifts be given directly to TCF for TOHR's Pyramid Project capital campaign?
Yes. At times, some donors may desire anonymity. Such donors may make gifts
directly into TOHR's Pyramid Project Capital Campaign fund at TCF by noting the
account number. TCF is equipped to recieve gifts of stock, real estate, artwork,
and other appreciated assets. TCF will issue receipts directly to the donors.
Please contact TCF Executive Director Phil Lakin at (918) 494-8823 for more
information on this special type of giving.
